Supervised Agricultural Experience Program

In addition to CDE’s students participate in numerous SAE projects including sheep, swine, dairy cattle, beef cattle, goats, rabbits, poultry, floral design, agriscience fair projects, agriculture jobs, outdoor recreation, vegetable production, viticulture, small animals, agriculture education, agriculture sales and service, horticulture, and landscaping.  Last year Santa Rosa FFA members exhibited the Grand Champion FFA Market Lamb, Grand Champion Poultry Meat Pen, had six class winners and three breed champions in swine, and a first place junior garden display.  Through their SAEP’s 6 students were regional proficiency winners and three students were State Finalists, in the areas of Equine Placement, Agriculture Education, and Vegetable Crop Production Placement.  In the 2007-2008 year three students earned their American FFA Degree and ten members received their State FFA Degree.

Ashleigh Dunn - Equine Science Placement

Congratulations to Ashleigh Dunn.  She has won the section, region and state for her work with horses.  She competed against students across the nation for her Supervised Agriculture Experience Work.  She was selected as one of the top three students in the nation for Equine Science Placement.  She will be travelling to Indianapolis, IN in October to participate in an interview and competing to be a National Winner. CONGRATULATIONS ASHLEIGH! We wish you the best of luck.
